PC: California prohibits the sale of monitors judged too energetic

The California Energy Commission has indeed put in place energy regulations regarding "game" monitors. These regulations include in particular the maximum power consumption of a live monitor, the amount of energy it consumes when it is off as well as during the standby mode.

The new rules take into account any type of monitor, the curved at the OLED via Freesync or Gsync compatibility. The law will now require that screens to be less energy greater than those of the previous regulation.

Consumption in standby or off mode should not exceed 1.2 Watt. From the outset, it reduces the scope of the possibilities.

In short, a new regulation that for the moment does not have a big impact but could have one if other states followed California in this energetic choice. In reality, do we really have the choice?
