Streich reveals: Kronenberg becomes new Bundestorwarttrainer

The Freiburg Andreas Kronenberg becomes successor to the longtime Bundestorwart Trainer Andreas Köpke. This revealed SC coach Christian Streich at a press conference on Friday. "We found a compromise," said prank: "I can congratulate the DFB that you get crown. I'm looking forward to him, for the Hansi and for the DFB - I'm not looking forward to us."

The compromise should look like the Swiss Kronenberg in the season 2021/22 still remains at the SC and in the international matches on honor of the coaching team around national coach Hansi Flick. From the next summer, the 46-year-old will then be hired at the German Football Association (DFB). Freiburg has to seek a new goalkeeper trainer until then.

"It's a pity for us because he is an exceptionally good goalkeeper and has an exceptionally good sense of a team," said prank. It's doing him "hurt, because I lose a very close employee who has great qualities, human like technical".

Köpke had submitted his post after the EM after 17 years as a Bundestorwarttrainer. Kronenberg has been considering succeeding since then as a possible candidate.
