Steam Deck: Portal 2 is the first title with the predicate "Verified for the Steam Deck"

To ensure that the games available through Steam also run on the in-house handheld PC platform Steam Deck, Valve has started a large-scale quality assurance program. Everyone over the online sales platform titles is checked on the hardware and divided into one of four compatibility categories.

The highest classification is verified. This means that the title can be started and played directly. All games marked as playable may need to be adapted manually by the player, e.g. by configuring the controller. Not supported is quasi self-explanatory: The game is currently not running on the steam deck. And all titles marked unknown have not yet been checked for compatibility or are currently in the test.

Delayed for the classification are four categories:

Input

The title has complete controller support, uses proper glyphs for controller input and opens when needed, automatically the on-screen keyboard.

Display The game should support the standard resolution of the Steam Deck (1280 × 800 or 1280 × 720), have functional default settings and the texts should be readable.

Fearlessness The title should not display compatibility warnings and the launcher, if available, should be operated with a controller.

System support If the game runs over proton, it should be supported by proton with all associated middleware. This includes anti-cheat support.

The first title is a Reddit User (via GamesRadar) in the Steam database, the portal 2 published in April 2011 with the current verification. The Valve own game was supplemented only a few days ago Steam Deck Compatibility. This too is a clear signal to the players that the repeatedly postponed delivery of the hardware should begin at the end of February (we reported).
